Julie Lautens helps leaders at all levels deepen their self-awareness and develop their unique portfolio of leadership and managerial skills to produce improved business results and increase personal fulfillment.

  Julie’s coaching style is grounded, connected, and collaborative. She brings heart, safety, and gentle challenge. She is strong in evoking awareness by actively listening and creating a safe container that supports exploration. She brings warmth and connectedness to her coaching, attuned to her client. She brings back what she learns about the client over time to help them to connect their ideas. Her clients strengthen their voice and sense of identity, resulting in greater integration, sustainable change, and active self-advocacy.

With over 20 years of progressive leadership experience and a keen interest in human development, Julie brings a range of tools and ideas to her clients. She teases out what matters most and customizes solutions in complex situations. She supports organizations as an executive coach, team coach, and consultant to catalyze leadership development and build organizational effectiveness.  

Before founding her coaching practice, Julie led teams to develop and make medicines at GlaxoSmithKline. She started in R&D as a research scientist and then moved to manufacturing, where she served on the Canadian site and global functional executive teams. As Head, Technical Services and then VP Quality (2009 – 2015), she was responsible for cross-functional teams and strategic projects spanning four continents to support GSK’s global supply chain. She was well-known for building teams and coached directors and emerging leaders to take courageous steps and widen their impact. She also supported executive leaders of factories and central functions in organization design and team effectiveness.  

Julie holds a PhD in chemistry from Harvard University and BA from Carleton College in Minnesota, USA. An ICF PCC coach, she trained at Adler (ATC) and Corentus (Team Coaching certificate). A lifelong learner, she continues her studies in coaching presence and somatic practices. She is certified in the Hogan, TMS Team Management Profile, and Tilt365 assessments. She serves as a volunteer coach, sings in her community choir, and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
