As a coach, Marcia brings considerable organizational experience and understanding of human behaviour to inspire her clients to lead with purpose and heart. She helps them define and get clear on their direction and priorities, find ways to contribute more effectively, change behaviours that limit their success, and align and integrate their work and personal lives.
Since becoming a coach in 1999, Marcia has worked one-on-one with 150 executives and professionals in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Over the past three years, as a personal coach in the Queen’s University Executive MBA Programs, she has coached more than 50 leaders and aspiring leaders. Prior to becoming a professional coach, Marcia was a change management consultant, university instructor, group facilitator, and senior manager in the Ontario Government.
Marcia’s clients value her empathetic listening skills, insight and wise guidance that helps them articulate and focus on what’s important and meaningful while they develop strategies for personal and organizational success. They appreciate her directness, clarity, humour, and her understanding of the world in which they live and work.
Between 2004 and 2010, Marcia co-led a four-day transformational women’s leadership program – Courage to Act™. As a result of that program, close to 200 women have discovered their leadership strengths and made significant and positive changes in their organizations and lives. Marcia is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (The Coaches Training Institute) and is currently completing her application for the ICF designation of Master Certified Coach of which there are less than 1000 of the 21,000 members worldwide at this time.
